Songs of the Light is an immersive experience of live music, film and light created and performed by Conical Sphere Music in the amazing setting of Salisbury Cathedral. Exploring what "light" means to people in song and in film there were projections across giant screens around the Cathedral with a huge illuminated globe as the centrepiece hanging in the Spire Crossing. Accompanied by a choir of 150 local singers the evening was led by the Lead Artist Richard McLester and his team. The set, including the giant globe had been entirely built from scratch by dedicated volunteers who have put hundreds of hours into creating the amazing spectacle over the past 3 years.
I first heard about Songs of the Light when I met Richard McLester in Spring 2018. I loved the idea behind the project and was delighted when I was asked to photograph the set-up and then the event itself. The evening was an amazing and a real treat for the audience - well done to Richard and the team on a highly successful evening!
