Earlier this year I travelled to The Moot in Downton to photograph Chris and his family. I really enjoy meeting new clients and a large part of getting natural photos in family photoshoots is spending a little time when we first meet, chatting and just getting to know them. I also get to find out exactly what kind of photos they are looking for - in this case a few of all 4 of them together but then lots of relaxed photos of the boys. This really helps to get everybody, children and adults (!) relaxed, feel reassured, and to allow them to just be themselves.
As usual I took a bubble wand along with me - it's always on standby just incase (essential part of my kit!!) - and the boys loved it. Bubbles also allow for interaction and offer a great distraction, so I am able to photograph the fun as it happens without interfering with the scene - sometimes getting close with a wider angle lens or standing back and allowing for a little more intimacy.
The shoot was gifted to Chris and his family and we spent about an hour at The Moot. Even though it was a chilly but very bright January afternoon the boys had lots of fun and hopefully we got some great photos !!
