It's been a couple of months since my last blog post so I thought I'd post a few of the images from a photoshoot I took just before all the colour went in one of my favourite locations - Grovley Woods! Grovley Woods is just a fantastic place to visit. Once an ancient cattle drove, the main track through the woods is stunning - in the spring the ground layer is usually covered in bluebells and in the autumn when the trees have changed colour and started dropping their leaves
Autumn is one the best times of the year to get outside and enjoy the amazing colours as the leaves start to fall and we get those lovely oranges and yellows. So why not book in an afternoon to spend with the family exploring a local woods or park - the perfect opportunity to have fun together and also document this special time with some great photos! With Christmas fast approaching now is defiantly the time to get those family photos sorted as they are always the perfect g
One of the things I love most about photographing families and children is being able to be creative and provide them with images they will enjoy looking back on in years to come. Denise's son actually purchased this photoshoot for her as a Christmas present as he knew she would absolutely love a set of photos of all her children and granddaughter. We met near Figheldean in Wiltshire and went to a section of the river where Denise's children (now all adults) used to play and
Earlier this year I travelled to The Moot in Downton to photograph Chris and his family. I really enjoy meeting new clients and a large part of getting natural photos in family photoshoots is spending a little time when we first meet, chatting and just getting to know them. I also get to find out exactly what kind of photos they are looking for - in this case a few of all 4 of them together but then lots of relaxed photos of the boys. This really helps to get everybody, ch
It is always really nice when I get asked to take photos from families year on year and at the end of 2018 I was asked by Amy to take some family photos in Groveley Woods in Wilton. This has almost become an annual event now as I think this is the 4th year in a row! Now when we meet it's great fun as I have got to know all the family pretty well - it's always a relaxed shoot and we get to have a nice chat as we walk along and the children know they can just enjoy themselves
Last month I spent some time with Julia and her two boys and we decided to go to a nearby Farm for their photoshoot. Both boys are very active and love being outdoors and this farm is a place they often go to chill out and have some time together as a family. We started at one of their favourite places down by the river and then moved unto the farm where there is a fantastic open barn with lots of hay bales - and the perfect place to get some early evening low light photos!!
If you are looking for a gift your friends or family will love - why not purchase a family photoshoot! At the beginning of the year I ran a competition via Mark Bastick Photography Facebook page to win a Free photoshoot and the lucky winner was Laura. Although the competition was earlier in the year we decided to book the shoot in Autumn and while there was still colour in the trees, so I travelled down to meet Laura and her family in the New Forest at the beginning of November. I absolutely love photographing in the New Forest - there are so many fantastic locations, the co
Taking family photos can be hard work - especially when trying to come up with new ideas and keeping the photos fresh and unique. I was asked by Anna to do a double photoshoot with her family and her brother-in-law's family at the same time earlier this year. We decided to go to the New Forest and I arranged to meet them at a location I'd actually done pre-school photos for earlier this year. Although it was the same location, I Decided to try and have my own take on the '
Earlier this summer I was contacted by Sarah to take photos for her parents birthday. The gathering consisted of family members who had travelled from the Dubai, Switzerland and Hong Kong and so the photoshoot was also a rare celebration of the family all being together - and important photo opportunity! We started with some whole group photos and then I was able to photograph the children playing together - I usually travel with bubbles these days (essential kit for a child
It is always fantastic when couples who's weddings I photographed contact me once they have started a family for some family photos! When I photograph a wedding I spend a lot of time with couples before and during their wedding and by the time I have delivered their photos I have got to know them fairly well - so it's great to catch up and lovely to see how happy they are together and meet their new family! I photographed Richard and Charley's wedding in 2014 at #ashleywoodb
Earlier this week I met with Zuzana and her family in Pitton near Salisbury for a family photoshoot. Zuzana booked me after I took the photos for her daughter's pre-school last year and we had a fantastic time. The rain which had been threatening disappeared and we were left with a beautiful afternoon with a few clouds covering the harsh sun now and then - perfect for photos! #Wiltonphotographer #Salisburyphotographer #Salisburyphotography #wiltshirefamilyphotographer #Wilt
